Caramel Icing - Mimi's

Covers 1 recipe of 1-2-3-4 Cake.

1 box light brown sugar

1 cup milk

2 tbsp butter

Pinch salt

1 tsp. vanilla

  1. Cook all ingredients except vanilla until they are softly boiling.  
  2. Remove pan from heat and add vanilla.  
  3. Beat icing with a wooden spoon.
  4. Add more milk if necessary for desired consistency.
