Sausage and Lentil Soup

Serves 2 for 3 meals

1 lb. lentils, washed and drained

1 lb. Kielbasa sausage (or other garlicky polish sausage) cut in chunks

2-3 carrots, cut up.

3-4 small onions, peeled but whole (Stick a clove in one of them)

1-2 medium potatoes, peeled and cut in chunks

(Chunks of turnips)

1 bay leaf

Salt, Pepper

1 quart (1 liter) of water

  1. Throw everything in a pot and bring it to a boil.
  2. Reduce heat and allow to simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Taste and correct seasoning.
  4. When lentils are soft (about 30 minutes total), remove from the heat and serve.
