Ginger Tea, a cold remedy

Makes about 3 cups – one day’s supply

1 inch peeled fresh ginger root, grated

2 cups water

½ tsp cayenne pepper (more or less)

2 tbsp fresh squeezed lemon juice

honey to taste

2 cloves mashed or chopped garlic

  1. Bring grated ginger to a boil in the water and simmer for 5 minutes.
  2. Add cayenne pepper, simmer another minute and remove from heat.
  3. Add lemon juice, honey to taste, and chopped garlic.
  4. Let cool slightly before drinking.

It’s a good idea to get in bed under warm covers when drinking this. It will make you sweat. Repeat after a nap.
