Chai - Indian-style Tea

Makes a lot of Chai

You can keep this in the refrigerator and warm it up whenever you feel like a great drink. Adjust the spices to taste.

5 cups/1 liter of water

4 bags of black tea

3 cups milk or soy milk

1/3 cup honey

4 sticks cinnamon

5 whole cloves

1 bay leaf

6 whole cardamom pods (1/4 tsp ground)

  1. Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil.
  2. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered for 30 minutes. Strain.
  3. Serve cold or hot.
